To schedule a meeting with the MPP Program please complete the Visit Request Form.
We encourage visitation during the fall or spring semesters, when classes are in session and you can get a more complete experience of the Sanford School. Our visitation itinerary usually includes a meeting with Admissions Staff; with the Director of Graduate Studies, MPP Program; with the Career Services staff, with the Director of Student Services and Program Development, and with current MPP students. You might observe one or more classes and meet with faculty (based on your policy interests and their availability). If you would like to observe a particular class while you are here, please look over our course schedules. Disregard courses numbered in the "100" series; these are undergraduate courses.
To allow time to plan your agenda, complete the online Visit Request Form at least two weeks prior to your projected arrival date. If possible, we suggest approximately four to five hours for your visit. Please note that we are unable to schedule visitations on weekends (Saturday or Sunday) or on designated Duke holidays, breaks, or recesses. Class attendance during scheduled visits ends on December 1 and resumes on January 12 (or week-two in January). Due to winter break and application processing, visits are not scheduled during the period December 15 through January 11. Summer visits (mid-May through mid-August) are available on a limited basis based on faculty and staff availability.
PLEASE NOTE: Once you have submitted your MPP application online, we defer visiting our program until after you have received the admission decision. We generally make our decisions by mid-February, and if you are admitted, we highly encourage your attendance at our Open House for admitted MPP candidates near the end of March.
U.S. and International Recruiting Events
We attend a number of prospective student recruiting events throughout the United States and abroad. To see if we will be present at an event near you, view our online schedule. Prospective students located near these events may speak to a representative about the MPP program at one of the graduate and professional school fairs listed.
Email MPPadmit@duke.edu for more information.

“The Sanford Institute faculty aren't just academics. Within a few moments of talking with any of your professors, you begin to realize that they are drawing on a vast wealth of actual policymaking experience.”
