Our participants, who are selected from a large pool of applicants, have a strong desire to work in global policy and benefit from the exposure that they get from spending a summer working and learning in Geneva. Past sponsors have been impressed by the ability of our students to show initiative, to be self starters, and to be well skilled for the policy projects that they are given during their internship.
We require internship sponsors to (1) provide the intern with a project that is both beneficial to the organization and to the student's professional development. (2) We require that the supervisor serve as a mentor for this student during the summer and show enthusiasm for sharing their profession with the intern. (3) We also require supervisors to fill out an evaluation of the student at the end of the summer and encourage them to discuss the evaluation before the student's departure.
