Videoconferencing/Teleconferencing Request Form
A room must be reserved using the online space
request form before submitting this request.
- Once a room is reserved, our AV specialist, Rob DiPatri, will discuss your
event with you to determine your technical needs. It is required that this be
done at least a week in advance of the scheduled call to ensure availability of both equipment and
assistance and to allow ample time for both sites to test connectivity.
- Charges will apply depending on origin of call, number of sites, and extent
of technical assistance required. For class related functions, technical
assistance is provided pro bono. For other calls, a technical assistance
fee of $35 per/hour will apply. In addition to technical charges, standard
phone charges will apply as well.
For Videoconferencing Specifically:
- Charges for Videoconference calls will be determined by the distant
sites’ system capabilities. The Sanford Institute has the capability
to make both IP and ISDN based calls. IP calls are web-based and are
therefore, free. ISDN calls require several phone lines working in tandem
to complete the call. Prices for ISDN calls vary, but are comparable
to standard long distance fees multiplied by the number of lines required
to connect (3-6).
- Videoconference calls require a technical assistant to be present at
$35/per hour for the duration of the call.
