Selimi, from Kosovo, is a second year candidate for a Master’s Degree in International Development Policy, with a specialization in Peace and Conflict Resolution. He is an American Councils - Kosovo American Education Fund Fellow. Selimi earned his law degree from Prishtina University, Kosovo, and his master’s degree in Management of Development from the University of Turin, Italy. Before coming to Duke, he worked with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on projects related to building institutional justice and security sectors in Kosovo.
He was editor of the handbook, “A Police Guide to the Provisional Criminal Procedure Code of Kosovo.” Selimi also completed an internship in Geneva, Switzerland, with the United Nations Development Program, Bureau for Crisis Prevention and Recovery (UNDP-BCPR) as part of the Duke Geneva Program. Currently he is working as a Teaching Assistant for the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA) training program at Duke’s Center for International Development. He is married to Arta Selimi.
