Before moving to Winston-Salem in July 2006, Reilly was involved with a number of nonprofit organizations in South Bend, Ind., serving on the boards of the Community Foundation of St. Joseph’s County, the St. Joseph’s Capital Corp., Lamar Corp. and the Stanley Clark School. She previously served on the board of La Casa de Amistad, a Latino community center. Reilly also launched a restaurant, Lula’s Café. Previously, she worked for the William T. Grant Foundation Commission on Children and the Ashoka Foundation, and was a founding member of the Commission on National and Community Service, the precursor to AmeriCorps. She earned a BA in political science at Emory University. Reilly and her husband, Matt Cullinan, have three children, Grace, Walker and Julia.
